A Special Day...

Thanks ya'll for checking in on my blog! I'm hoping to make it fun for all of my friends and family. I am shocked at all of the responses so far!! A couple of things that I am planning are...

MARLENE'S TIP OF THE DAY:
When you retire for the night and realize you still have a wad of gum in your mouth, and put it on the night stand next to your bed, next to the wax ear plugs that you will need in the middle of the night when your spouse starts snoring, be careful in the dark, that you pick up the wax to put in your ear, and not the gum.

MARLENE'S SPECIAL DAY:
Tomorow is a very special day for me thanks to my mom and dad. It is the anniversary of my birth. There is a beautiful story behind my name, A TRUE STORY, I promise. WARNING!! There will be language used that is NOT politically correct, but it was acceptable 40 + years ago.

Once upon a time, 40+ years ago, a beautiful princess, "Joanne", and her handsome prince, "Mike", welcomed the perfect child into this world. She was born on February 25, 19??
The beautiful mother wanted to name her georgeous daughter, Darlene. The beautiful mother's mother, "Grandma Heile", said, NO! I know a retarded girl named Darlene! If you name her that, I will think, "retard everytime I see her".

Thank you mom for my name, and for telling me that amazing story.

I want to thank my parents for having me and for being the best parents anyone could hope for. My parents are my idols.

One last thing, believe it or not I GOT CARDED TODAY!!! YES, I DID!!! I went to the grocery store and bought a small bottle of expensive wine and right after I wrote my check I was asked, "could I see your ID"!!!! It made my day. : ) God is good.
